RAY FBLA History
Foundation
In 2009, the Ray FBLA was organized under the leadership of Bernadette Perdue as advisor. The group in its first year established itself not only in the school, but in the state. The group applied for and received their chapter charter in September of 2009. They attended a variety of conferences and competed at State Leadership Conference. The group established a school store and hosted a Christmas Baking Fundraiser.
One member qualified for the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, however was unable to attended due to a conflict
2010-2011
After a strong first year, the chapter was ready for their second. The chapter membership grew and many more attended and competed at the state leadership conference. Five members earned a spot to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. Haley Donnelly ran and was elected to the State Region II VP position
2011-2012
The third year of Ray FBLA was another great year. Membership grew as did the chapter’s list of activities. A community carnival was held, and pizza sales were started. Kendra Perdue was elected as the State Region II VP, and Jonathan Olson was elected to serve as the State President. Five members attended Nationals in San Antonio, Texas.
2012-2013
In year four, the chapter maintained its membership. They held their tradition activities and fundraisers. Four members attended National Fall Leadership in Denver, Colorado. Eight members qualified for NLC in Anaheim, California.
2013-2014
Year five was very similar to our other years. Dawson Cvancara was elected to Region II Vice President. NLC was in Nashville, TN and 10 qualifying members competed at the conference.
2014-2015
In this sixth year of our chapter, our advisor made the transition from business teacher to school counselor. The new business teacher, Sarah Beck became co-advisor along with Mrs. Perdue. Kelsey Perdue was elected to the position of State Secretary. NLC was in Chicago, IL and 7 members attended.
2015-2016
This year our chapter broke their own membership record with 36 members. Mrs. Perdue was the sole advisor again this year. Along with a great year of membership, we had our best year with competitive events. Twelve members qualified for the national conference that was held in Atlanta, GA.
Our community benefited from our efforts in cleaning up the basement of the museum to ready it for much needed restoration.
2016-2017
Our chapter came into year seven with a mission, to grow our chapter and be the best that we could be. We added many new members, and raised a lot of money for March of Dimes. We have the goal of being a Diamond Level Chapter, and taking as many to nationals as we can. NLC this year returns to Anaheim, CA.
Our chapter will only continue to grow and thrive. With a strong team of leaders rising in our chapter, we will have a chapter that can and will continue to be a key asset not only in our school but our community.
